More students file plaint, Frankfinn denies charge

MARGAO: A few more students have jointly lodged a complaint at the Margao town police accusing the management of the Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess training of allegedly cheating them of lakhs of rupees.

The students have complained that despite paying the entire fee amount, they were not provided with certificates and scholarships on the completion of the course, as promised to them. While last year’s batch was yet to receive their certificates on completing the course, this year’s batch was yet to receive the full training, students mentioned in the complaint lodged with the police.

The students told mediapersons that they were abused in vulgar language by the staff when questioned about the irregularities. Around 60 students are learnt to be affected by the alleged fraud. Students had paid fees upwards of 86,000 for the course.

Police sources said that they are in the process of collecting evidence and investigations are under way.

The Margao town police booked an offence against the staff and management of the institute on a complaint lodged by a student of the institute last week.

Frankinn has denied the charges terming them as “totally false and mischievous”.

In a press note signed by Anup Humar Mishra, AVP-legal, of Frankfinn, he maintains that the police complaints were filed “at the behest of vested interests in a pre-planned way to defame Frankfinn”.

“Frankfinn has also issued defamatory notices to (some students who have lodged police complaints) and will be filing criminal and civil defamatory cases against them. Frankfinn is a 21-year-old, reputed multi-national organization,” Mishra said.
