Widower of Wall Street recruiter sues doctors, says they are responsible for wife’s death

The widower of a 40-year-old Wall Street recruiter who jumped to her death in August 2017 is suing his late wife’s doctors over the suicide, claiming they allowed a medical student to coordinate her care.

Lindsay Jacoby died on Aug. 28, 2017, about two weeks after she was hospitalized at New York Presbyterian for suicidal thoughts and feelings.

Her husband, Seth Jacoby, says he called 911 on Aug. 15, 2017, when “his wife threatened to commit suicide by jumping off a building.”

He asked the docs to admit the mother of his two children because of her “worsening psychiatric problems” and alcohol abuse, he says in Manhattan Supreme Court papers.

The first four doctors who treated Lindsay Jacoby recommended admission, but the message was never communicated to her longtime shrink Dr. Craig Katz because the physicians allowed a medical student to take over her treatment, the suit says.

Seth Jacoby says his corporate recruiter and yoga instructor wife was a “significant wage earner” for their family when she died.

His medical malpractice suit is for unspecified damages.

A hospital spokesman declined to comment. Katz was traveling for work and did not return messages.
